CIA Exhibition at Sixteen Gallery

I was delighted to attend the opening of the Cheltenham Illustration Awards ‘Future Forecasts’ exhibition at Sixteen Gallery. The show runs this week and is a chance to see the selected entries.

My selected illustration is inspired by the cyberpunk novel Neuromancer by William Gibson. I depicted the early stages of the story where Case is down and out in Chiba… and he’s being followed.

It was great to meet fellow entrants and see the range of interpretations of the theme ‘Future Forecasts’ in narrative art. There were many optimistic visions of the future, while mine – I guess – was a bit dark!

If future Natalie could go back to 2010 and tell myself as a then MA Sequential Design / Illustration student that I’d be selected for the CIA award 15 years later, that would be a very happy future forecast for this one.

The CIA exhibition continues in Stroud from 21 June at the Museum In The Park.
