It was an amazing night at the Old Shoe Factory in Norwich. Unconsumed opened with a jam-packed private view, that saw 95 East Anglian artists and art lovers converge on the disused factory for a celebration of all things creative.

Follow Unconsumed on Instagram for latest news from the show. It’s open all week and several artists will be invigilating, so if you’re local, come and say hello. There’s so much to see and art works to think about at an already thought-provoking venue. It’s a very special exhibition.

I’m invigilating 3pm-6pm Sunday 5th March… wearing my warmest clothes!
UnConsumed is a cross-generational, multi-disciplinary, post-pandemic exhibition by East Anglian artists. The show runs from 4th March until 11th March, open 12-6pm daily. The private view is 4th March 6-9pm.

Behind the scenes
This was a straightforward installation for my piece: “Eat Me, Drink Me”. I’ve exhibited at the Old Shoe Factory before so I knew the striking black and white painting would look amazing in the space. I’m just letting the natural light play off the painting and I’ve propped it against a rusty pillar, as if it’s a found object. The stark black and white and the heaviness of the object, contrasts beautifully with the dilapidation of the crumbling walls and many colours in the ground floor of the abandoned shoe factory.
