Arts alumnae reunite in China – University of Brighton

Thank you Sarah, at the University of Brighton Alumni Association, for the blog post about my presentation in Chongqing, China. The visit was made possible by my dear friend Yishi Fu, who I met on the MA course in Brighton, 2009. This article is a glowing memento to an enduring friendship and to my time in the Arts faculty at the University of Brighton.

On Thursday 27 July Sheringham-born illustrator and artist Natalie Knowles gave a presentation in Chongqing, China. She showcased her illustrations of Sheringham to an audience of over 30 artists and creatives at Testbed 2. The audience were amazed and intrigued by Sheringham Carnival, the Viking festival and the Lobster Potty weekend. Natalie gave a 30 minute presentation followed by an hour of questions and answers. The main comment of the evening was that Natalie’s love for her home town was abundantly clear in her warmth and her art work.
