A tribute to Tony Nelson

Because Tony Nelson was such a well-known personality in my home town, Sheringham, he absolutely had to feature in my paintings, illustrations and stories (see The Carnival Queen).

On a personal level, if I bumped into Tony around town we would engage in fantastic conversations about art. He supported all of my exhibitions (by attending in role as town crier) and commissioned me to design his Christmas card in 2015.

When I heard that he had passed away I knew that the painting on my bookshelf in my flat had to go back to Sheringham, for Tony. Because he is in it. Because he inspired it.

The Mo Museum has accepted this painting and I was so moved by the kind words that they put on their Facebook page:
